The closed final exam is the end of the journey of a Doctoral Program student at Diponegoro University. The stages in achieving a Doctoral degree are not easy, going through various stages of colloquiums, seminars, eligibility, and the process of writing scientific articles with full of ups and downs. The Water Resources Management Doctoral Study Study Program has once again produced its 189th new doctorate, Dwi Imam Prayitno has been registered as a student since 2020.
The closed final exam was held offline in Building J307 FPIK Undip at 13.00-15.50 WIB. The Closed Examination was led by Prof. Ir. Tri Winarni Agustini, M.Sc, Ph.D (Dean of FPIK), as Session Chair and Examiner, accompanied by Dr. Aninditia Sabdaningsih, S.Si., M.Sc. (Head of the Study Program), as Secretary of the Exam Session with Examining Team Members consisting of; Dr. Andi Hairil Alimudin, M.Si (External Examiner) Tanjungpura University; Dr. Dra. Wilis Ari Setyati, M.Si (Internal Examiner); Tatas HP Brotosudarmo, S.Si, Dipl.Chem, Ph.D (Co – Promoter); Prof. Dr. Ir. Delianis Pringgenis, M.Sc. (Co – Promoter); Prof. Dr. Ir. Eko Nurcahya Dewi, M.Sc (Promoter). In his dissertation presentation entitled “Characterization of Vegetable Oil Enriched with Astaxanthin from Fermented Rebon Shrimp (Cincalok) as a Source of Antioxidants”, Promovendus provided a review. Based on the astaxanthin content in cincalok, the best fermentation time is 10 days. Furthermore, the optimum conditions for astaxanthin extraction were obtained by using VCO as a solvent using the ultrasonication method (amplitude 40% for 3 minutes), where the astaxanthin extraction yield was 100.62 μg/g. Through this method, VCO is obtained which is enriched with astaxanthin from cincalok (VCOA). Based on astaxanthin concentration, ALB levels, and BP, VCOA has good resistance when exposed to light and heat for 6 hours. Light exposure does not have a significant effect on the quality of VCOA, but changes in heating temperature have a significant effect.
