Sister Yuliani’s Closed Dissertation Examination took place offline at 09.00-12.00 WIB Building J Room 307 FPIK Undip. Yuliani is a student of the Water Resources Management Doctoral Study Program who has been registered since 2020 and was able to graduate with the 187th Doctorate degree in 3 years and 4 months after experiencing the ups and downs of carrying out her studies with great struggle.
The title of the dissertation presented by Promovenda is “Bioprospection of Spirulina platensis with Ocimum basilicum L. as an antidiabetic nutraceutical in mice induced by streptozotocin-nicotinamide and improved histopathology.” Based on the presentation, Promovenda explained that DSB has antioxidant activity of 48.05 ppm and α-amylase inhibitor activity of 85.86%. DSB therapy on mice model of streptozotocin-nicotinmide induced diabetes for 14 days showed a decrease in blood glucose levels, oral glucose tolerance test, MDA, AST, ALT and necrosis percentage values and significantly improved the appearance of the pancreas, kidneys and liver. This research also shows that the antidiabetic activity (α-amylase inhibitor) of DSB 200 mg/kg bw is better or the same as metformin. The novelty of this research is the discovery of the active compounds 6-Mehylquinoline and 9-oxo-10,12-octadecadienoic acid which have antidiabetic activity (α-amylase inhibitor).

(Head of the Study Program), as Secretary of the Examination Session with Team Members, Prof. Dr. Diana Nur Afifah, S.TP., M.Si. (as Co-Promoter I); Prof. Dr. Ir. Eko Nurcahya Dewi., M.Sc. (as Co-Promoter II); Prof. Dr. Sc. Amir Husni, S.Pi., M.P (as External Examiner in the Field of Fishery Product Technology Science at the Faculty of Agriculture, Gadjah Mada University.); Dr. Wilis Ari Seyati, M.Si (as examiner); Dr. Putut Har Riyadi, S.Pi, M.Si (as examiner). The results of the assessment from the Closed Examination Team, a.n Yuliani, were declared PASS and became the 187th graduate of the FPIK Diponegoro University Water Resources Management Doctoral Program with the CUMLAUDE Predicate.
